Breathing Issues Urgent

I always take my hens to the vet.

How is your hen. I had a hen with similar breathing issues. After trying Batyril for 2 weeks and then Lasix, I started her on Prednisolone and she did a complete turnaround. She had severe issues with clicking sounds when she breathed. I gave her 1 mg twice a day for 5 days, then 1 mg once a day for 5 days, then 1 mg every other day for a week, now 1 mg twice a week for 2 weeks. So far so good and she is back in the coop. She is a bantam weighing 2 pounds 4 ounces. Dosing I believe is 1 - 2 mg, twice a day per kg.

Where did you obtain the prednisone? I haven't seen it anywhere without a prescription.

It was actually prednisolone and had it compounded at a local pharmacy - vet prescribed.

I wish that was the case but it's from inbreeding from her former owners.they cared about the birds allot but they never got new blood in the flock. The vet said there is nothing to do. I've been putting her in a warm place for now to make breathing easier. I thank you for your suggestion tho. Thank you.
