Wow those are unique! I wish we had that gene in the US. The article on feathersite says that they have cavernous nostrils too, which I have read is linked to the V duplex gene. I wonder if they have that too?
Yes, in fact I believe V combs are just about the closest there. Consider that a good Polish hen should have absolutely no comb at all, a good male should have a tiny comb. Both Polish (or other V combed breeds) and Breda fowl have the cavernous nostrils.
If I remember right Breda comblessness is cause by a gene different than the comb genes [R,P,r or p]. This gene causes the comb gene to not express it's self. I think Bredas would be straight combed if it was expressed. Tom
