Bree & Beer *PIC HEAVY*

Well, I'm a noob and not at all sure I'd know pointy vs oval unless both were side by side... but I may give it a go.

I was mostly basing my hopes on coloring. They don't look all that gray to me, but if they're both the same then as with the feathers, how would I tell? Since I've not had BRs before I don't really have a reference but for pics online, and those are SO many shades and variations.

Darnabbit there went my colored basket. AND two I've actually started to like since they quit being such skittish little gits.

Although I am not an expert in BR (I have six of them), from looking at a bazillion posts on here regarding sexing, they look like dudes to me.

Hey don't feel bad. I wouldn't have posted the pics if I hadn't been suspicious.

It is WAY better to know, and see about rehoming, than to not know until crowing starts and I get cited for having them!

Definitely appreciate the heads up!!

Edit.. just started raining, but I was out there taking a gander and noticed that now that I'm not in there and they're a little more relaxed they're standing a little taller... more Roo-ish if you will. Just one more sign. Stinking Y chromosome.

Hmmmm.... no offense ya'll, but those are not Barred Rocks, they are mixed. OP said they were BR x EE. Hence the combs. Pineapple, I hate to say it, but they do look pretty rooster-like.

They have the barring but I am looking at feathering, legs, combs and wattles.

I just sold a BR x EE roo for $35.00 on the local CL, might consider it. He was a huge, good natured roo and very flashy! Go for it!

Well, Miss A said if they turned out to be boys she'd have them back so I'm definitely going to give her first dibs. She was kind enough to give us, for free AND drive to my town -granted already coming this way but still-, these two chicks that easily could have ended up being great layers. So, it only seems right to give her first choice if she'd like to have them.

And I really haven't lost anything, I still have my four GSLs producing plenty. Cost some feed, but we enjoyed having the chicks around so I reckon that's a fair swap.

Now, if Miss A doesn't want them, then I might just see about your idea.

That's cool! Sounds like a great plan, I just wish they weren't roos. It's hard when you are limited to only four though.

Miss A sounds like a very nice person.

Oh yeah, she's awesome. An enabler par excellence, but awesome.

Now she's got me thinking about quail... we could have a few in the house and not get in trouble... right??

Mmmm quail and dumplins.... Hehe... you see what I mean.
