Breed and gender help?? Plz and TIA

Hi everyone, im new here and really enjoy all the information!!! Im loving this new adventure of owning chickens! I got this,(I was thinking hen) back at the begining of march from tsc i was told i thought that it was a dom? Well it tries to crow like roo when the other roos do. I also have 16 Rhode island reds and another chicken that i was told was a dom also looking to see if i have pictures of that one now to post as well. Any help i would greatly appreciate

That is a Dominique male.

Thanks he looks lopsided to me, does he look funny to you, dang another roo, i belive i aleeady 6 just in the reds lol

He does look like there may be something skeletal going on. His tail is very far to the left like his back is curved.


It could be a non issue or it could cause problems later in life.

Ok now how about the other one below i was told it was also a dom but someone else said no more of a barred rock? But i think its a hen lol

Looks like a Dominique pullet to me.

The difference between a dominique and a barred rock is going to be in their comb most obviously. The dominiques have what's known as a rose comb, a barred rock has a straight comb. Those two look like they have rose combs, so I'd go with dominique.
