It is a cockerel, and is likely to be a hatchery hybrid of some kind. It's not a speckled Sussex, because those have white legs, but there's a slim chance it could be a Swedish flower hen, depending on the source hatchery.

Update: At 5 months old still think it's a roo?
Still unsure what mix it is but some have suggested EE. I'll wait to see what color egg it lays before making any judgements.

Looking like a pullet to me now.

Yeah I can't see any Roo feathering there, and I would expect to by now. My roos start showing saddle feathers at around 15 weeks-ish... I think that's a pullet, and a very pretty one too!

Yes, it's a pullet. Her comb was really big as a youngster but I'm happy I was wrong!
