My neighbor's friend took in some chicks that had been hatched and raised by her daughter's class. After a few days, she discovered that a townhouse isn't exactly conducive to that idea, so I agreed to take them (with the warning that I wouldn't keep any roosters - we only live on 5 acres and I like my neighbors too much to have multiple roos).
Sooo, I have no idea about their breed because she had no idea. They all are between 4 and 6 weeks old.
I'm pretty sure that these two are roos about two weeks apart in age:
Now this one, I'm not so sure:
His/her comb, while larger than that of the other chick breeds that I have (RIR, barred rock, and olive egger) is still smaller than the the younger definite-roo's of the same breed and is not flopping over (as are both of the combs of his/her compatriots).
What do you all think?
Re: the breed: I thought perhaps buff brahma, but the pics that I can find all have pea combs.
