Me again with my "triplets" bought at TSC. These sweet girls are about 6 months old. Knowing what I know about the misrepresentation at the chain stores, I assume they are EE hens, but I figured I would ask the experts. It's funny, I have had backyard chickens since 2012 and only now am really paying attention to what breeds we may have, LOL (probably because we love them all!)

I thought EE's and Amauracauna's were the same breed.
Definitely not!
EEs are mixes. Still usually have Ameraucana blood; muffs and pa combs and dark legs, but they aren’t pure.
And they rarely come in solid colors.

Easter eggers are a cross. They have pea combs and usually lay blue or green eggs but can lay brown. They have no specific, breedable colors and are not APA recognized. I believe they do not breed true. Ameraucanas have a standard of body shape, leg color, etc, always lay blue eggs, and have recognizable color varieties. I'm pretty sure that they are APA recognized and do breed true.
