Breed help

I'm guessing Barred Rocks.
I think there are at least two cockerels:
purple band on right leg
yellow band on left leg

There's a chance the others might be females, but I wouldn't be sure about that for at least another month, maybe two months.

(Barred Rock males get more white than the females, because of how the barring gene works. Those two have quite much clearer white bars across the wings already.)

Edit to add: if they were shipped through the Post Office, they were less than 24 hours old when they were shipped. So if you know the ship date, you will know the age as well.

We took our chickies for their first field trip and on the sunlight I noticed a drastic difference in coloring. (Also pictured are 4 more new babies two gold star pulleys and 2 silver laced Wyandottes) What does the difference in color mean?

Probably lighter males (more white), darker females (less white). That's normal with Barred Rocks.

Other possible explanation would be something weird in the way they breed them at that hatchery, but I think that's much less likely.

Thank you. From what I read I was leaning towards that answer. The lighter ones are also taller than the others. Since we don’t know anything about them I assumed a few would be roosters
