Someone gave me two chicks today and I have no idea what they are. Any ideas?

The one on the right is much fuzzier still, larger, and has a whiter color.

This picture shows the larger one's whiter color a little better.

This is the smaller one. He/she has more feathers and an orange/red sheen to it's feathers.

I think they were purchased at a feed store, but not sure. Any ideas on breeds? It was raining so the lighting isn't good. I'll try for better pics later.

Does that mean that they are both red-sex link? I thought they were two different breeds. I think they came from two different feed stores. Thanks for helping me identify them.

Its hard to tell with the lighting on the small one.

The big one really looks like a cornishX

Do have any other chicks/chickens than these two?
CornishX don't live long and your other chick is going to need some friends to keep it company.

At this point I don't know.. I'm guessing the smaller one is a leghorn, the larger one looks like a Cornish X roo.

Yes, the chicks I have are:
black sex link
RIR
white leghorns
BO

and some more in the incubator.

I have noticed that the big one sits/lays quite a bit. He can walk just fine though. From what I've read on the board, you're supposed to process cornish X at 4-6 weeks, right? Not sure how to break that to the family that gave him to me.

4-5wks for game hen
6-10wks depending on if you want a fryer or roaster.

CornishX like to sit a lot

At 2-3wks restrict feed to 12hrs a day so they don't over eat. Normal chicks don't have this problem. You will be amazed by how fast they grow, and how much they eat and poop.
