Breed ID needed.. please help

i think one of them is a hen, but i am no expert... could be wrong

They are both definitely male. No girls there. The one boy's colouring is just developing a bit sooner than the other's.

I believe they are a barnyard mix. The person you got them from may be inexperienced rather than a deliberate deceiver.

Sorry. But roosters are very good at bug patrol and watch (and warn) duty. They also make an all-natural, "green" alarm clock

Gotta chime in here so you dont get too bummed. IMHO, they look like black sex-link pullets to me. I would expect more red in the comb and waddles if they were cockerels at 16 weeks-- they certainly arent as developed as my barred rock pullet was at the same age.

They look very sweet and I think you'll have a wonderful time with them! Good luck and enjoy your new hobby, it is quite addicting.

I was told its not good to have 2 roosters in a small flock as i would like to get a couple hens, is this true. would one of them have to go?

Pics of them walking around the yard would be better. Rooster tend to have a different stance than hens. It may help.
