Breed Identification

Now show Muscovy drake are hideous they can't possibly see with caruncles growing over their eyes.

Yeah they’re pretty “unusual” looking

Yup, that's a bit much. Moose had that much red, but his was a lot more "organized?" or maybe "styled is a better word. Instead of all that mess hanging down, it went up and over, like a dragon's or lizard's eye ridges, very cool. And his forehead started up that high, but came down in waves, almost like worry furrows, but very pronounced. And he was more mottley in his plumage - and big and chunky and rag-tag - a real "Old Soldier!"

OMG this takes me back. I know I don't have pics, but even if I did (and I'm dating myself, here ,,,,) they'd be old black and white Brownies, or maybe blurry Polaroids.
Still ... I wish ...

You scored big time with a pair of very nicely colored muscovies. Congratulations.

It's caruncles and I have a 7 yr old drake once he grew them in he didn't grow them bigger He's my avatar. Some just have more and bigger.

Caruncling it is, and is excessive in some birds - especially some of the show strains.

Thank you all for the quick responses. Now that we know what they are, their behavior makes a lot more sense. These are our first ducks, so it has been a trial-and-error process, but they seem to appreciate their accommodations.
