Hi all,
I'm a first time chicken owner and though I've been doing tons of research, I still don't know definitively what breeds of chickens I have. I have two age sets: two chicks about 10 weeks old and three who are a little over 2.
Chickens 1 & 2, the day I bought them as a couple day old chicks.
Chicken #1. The lady I bought her (her? him?) from called her a silkie, but I don't think she is. She has white skin and 4 toes. She is super docile and submissive.
Chicken #2: Very very friendly and a good bit smaller than Chicken #1
Chickens 3, 4, & 5 fresh out of their eggs! I hatched these ones from a few eggs a coworker of my sister gave me. They were all small white eggs, one being even smaller than the other two.
Chicken #3. The lady (a different lady from the first one!) I got them from has silkies & I'm assuming this is one also. She has black skin, 5 toes, and is just about getting her feet feathers.
Chicken #4. She also has 5 toes and is getting feet feathers, but yellow skin. Her feathers are getting quite dark.
Chicken #5. This is the one that hatched from the tiny tiny egg. She was almost all yellow when she first hatched but has gotten quite a bit darker. She has 4 toes, yellow skin, and not a hint of foot feather.
I want to know as much as possible about my babies, so any help would be lovely!
