Where did you get him? Looks like a mi
I got him at tractor supply and was told he was a barred rock. He's changing more every dayWhere did you get him? Looks like a mix to me maybe
Probably a mix since he's single-barred and has red leakage. Maybe a male sexlink.
I was thinking black sexlink then OP said Tractor Supply called it a Barred Rock and I knew it must be a male black sexlink. lolI got him at tractor supply and was told he was a barred rock. He's changing more every day
Oh...and it was supposed to be a henI was thinking black sexlink then OP said Tractor Supply called it a Barred Rock and I knew it must be a male black sexlink. lol
The reason I say that is because Barred Rock pullet chicks look mostly identical to male Black Sex Link chicks-they'll both be mostly black with a white or gray spot on top of their heads. As TS is known to get chick breeds mixed up (accidentally or otherwise) those two might be the most common ones to be confused for each other.Oh...and it was supposed to be a hen
Thanks so much. I'm brand new to raising chickens...ducks, guineas, and a turkey too. Lol. In fact, this guy and my turkey tussle today. They're both about 16-17 weeks old. Will they outgrow this or should I be concerned? I also have a sapphire gem rooster the same age. I hope I don't have to get rid of any of them.
