BREED PROJECT PICS!! Whos doing what?! ~~POST PICS HERE~~

Well, I have not DONE this yet, but I thought I would try it--just to see--I wanted to let my Welsummer Roo (who is only about the size of an apple) breed some of my nice RIR hens, just to see if I could get hens who would lay darker eggs than the RIR's lay, and more of them than the Welsummers lay.

I thought the colors would blend nicely.

Just a thought, though, because the Welsummers are just chicks now.

I crossed RIR & Buff Orps- the chicks were gorgeous, ginger-colored, and featherd out like Orps. Sold the ones that we got, but may try again next year if one of the Orps go broody.

Lisa, I love the cuckoo blue/green eggers.

If I ever get back into EEs, I am looking you up for those cuties.

Love those Cuckoo EEs. Several folks have been hatching what I've called Barred EEs from my BR roo over my BBS Ameraucana hens. The blue ones are especially adorable, with barring mostly in the tails and hackle areas.
