Breed??? Surprise chick

Sumatras are supposed to have pea combs, and I think that bird has a single comb.

Other possible black chicken breeds (that do have single combs):
Minorca
Andalusian (sold as blue, but some are actually black)
Australorp
Jersey Giant
Black Star sexlink (usually has some red in the breast)
White Faced Black Spanish (the white face shows up after they are older)
Langshan (has feathered feet, so probably not)
Cochin (feathered feet and very fluffy, so probably not)

None of those are "supposed to" have dark combs & skin, but some individuals do anyway, so it might be one or another of them. I think the Minorca or Andalusian are more likely than the others.

Of course it could be something else yet. These are all the options I've found so far on McMurray's websit, but maybe they're starting to breed Ayam Cemani, and are sending them out as surprise chicks but not yet listing them for sale? Because I do think Ayam Cemani is the most likely, based on the bird's appearance.
Thank you so much for all your diligence and research.

you are awesome for putting the photo I agree that they look alike but now I need to check the Murray McMurray to see if they sell that breed
Unless the hatchery you got these from sells high end birds, I doubt this is a Cemani. I have several myself, I paid a pretty penny for my eggs and had to search high and low to find a hatchery that actually had them. Not to mention, the red I can see in the face of your bird is not a quality found in a cemani. Also, its hard to tell from the pics but in the one you are holding her, she looks pretty good sized. Cemanis are not Bantam sized but they aren't terribly big in general.

I would guess Sumatran. That's a more common black breed, that also has color variations, such as the red skin on the face.

She is pretty though!!

This is my girl Pigeon, an Ayam Cemani. She is currently in the "med unit" as she is having some balance issues and is undergoing a vitamin B treatment plan. That didn't stop her from posing for the camera on Xmas day, to say happy holidays to all our friends!

I'm so sad for you with the vitB issues. I hope she's improving.. I know vitamin b is an essential vitamin and helps out a lot of things.
She's really pretty.

Thank you! She is improving, thank goodness. It's a slow road but she'll get there!
