Breed?

Hi All,

We got 4 chickens that were hatched in my daughter's kindergarten classroom. We're wondering what breeds they are.

They are 13 weeks old. We know the white and grey ones are some kind of bantam. Thanks! Leslie and Rose

Those are lovely chickens.

The first two are Easter Eggers, the white one looks like a cochin (or a mix breed maybe?), and the last looks like a Blue Copper Maran.

Agreed that the golden ones are Easter Eggers. That looks like Blue Copper Marans to me as well, unless it's an Oliver Egger. I have no idea about the white one, but Cochin is a good guess!

Thanks! I was thinking they were Easter Eggers and the white one a Cochin too, but I doubted myself since I'm new to having chickens. Much appreciated!

The white cochin looks just like one of mine. Mine got a lot fluffier as she aged.

Lovely Easter Eggers you have there. I'm not familiar with Marans, but we did have a cochin once, and she wasn't very fluffy until she got older. Hope you do have a cochin, ours was a sweetie.
