Breed?

I adopted these two beautiful chickens and wondering what breed they are?

the dark red chicken looks like a rhode island red and the light color one looks like a buff orpington but the buff might be a mix

The red one looks like a New Hampshire Red. She looks too light colored to be a RIR. The buff one does look like an Buff Orpington, but she looks a little different, so might be a mix.

x2 on the New Hampshire and mix. He looks like an Orpington but the leg color isn't correct a buff orpington would and either pinkish yellow or a very very pale yellow but yours has a light blue color.

yes, the description of the orpington fits Peaches. so docile that her Penni kind of bullies her! but, they love each other.

Hi.

I'm voting Production Red which is a cross between RIR and New Hampshire red. Way too light in color to be full RIR.

I agree the Buff Orp legs should be more of a white color than slate. And also thought I saw a pointy feather so considered calling it a cockerel. Have you any clue to their age? Or where they came from? Have you seen any eggs yet?

Both are hens and most likely crossbreds. Leg color on the one is wrong for either New Hampshire or Orpington, and also on the other for RIR or production red. Both appear to be in good health.
