*Update* these chicks came from the cackle hatchery in Missouri. Don't know if that will help in identifying what they are. Thank you for all input!!


Hi I ordered rate bed straight run chicks from the chick hatchery (although based in Michigan these birds were sent from Missouri at a sister facility). They are about 7 weeks old in the pics. I have no clue what they are. Here's what I can tell you is they don't seem to have puffy cheeks, no feathers on legs, 4 toes, blue/slate legs. Single comb?
Any help identifying them would be appreciated! My son will be showing them at the fair this year so I'm hoping we won't look like total amateurs (even though we totally are!). Thank you!

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think Phoenix chickens come in partridge.

They come in silver and gold. At least according to my Storeys guide to poultry breeds. I definitely don't know for sure that's what they are, but they fit the color, comb type and leg color.

Okie-dokie. That does look right. I thought they only came in silver and gold duckwing, at least in the States.
