And definitely stop the daily scratch thing. It does more harm than good. It takes away from the balanced diet. Scratch is a treat, as is everything other than their commercial diet. The more you feed, the more unbalanced their diet becomes. Its the same concept for humans. Balance is essential. I rarely feed my chickens treats, when I do, I like to let them free range and eat grass. This is because they exercise while eating the grass, so its a win-win.
