So I am pretty positive they are probably homers....

I bought them being told she had fantails and they were just getting ready to leave the nest when I got them... you all may remember my last thread back in June. they are all growed up and I am fairly sure they are BOTH girls....

Here is a newer pic of them (oh and if you know a color that would be great too they are siblings)
ETA: this pic is still like a month old so they werent quite all adult looking yet lol

On a higher note, I DID get some fantails and may be getting about 6 more pairs tomorrow along with what i am failry sure to be english tumblers, but rest assured I will post pics later to be sure lol

right when I brought them home, before they went out into the pen. I have had them a few days and they have already laid an egg

colour is red chequer (back) and mealy, if any of them have black flecks on their primaries/ tail feather then you have a boy...

The top birds are rollers. I have a trio that looks just like them. ;D

I agree, the first two do look like rollers. But they could also be young homers. And your fantails are pretty

I especially like the one in the front, but that's just because I like Indian Fantails more than American Fans.

The "homer/rollers" were born in May. So if that helps to tell you how old they are.... and I dont think either have any black on them.... so I guess I have two girls then..... anybody have 2 boys near me?! LOL

update: The pigeons breed is still unclear HOWEVER thanks to your help, and a little more time The red barred has shown itself to be a male! He has a black spot on the base of his tail and is getting some purple coloring on the chest area and his head is changing colors, also:

The first are young birds ,could be homers or even commonies. The fantail one in front yes indian fantail, one in the back is a india fantail cross, no muffs or head crest ,fewer tail feathers.....not a english fantail either .stance is wrong.

i have what im assuming is a mix of male fantail to female "roller", as "she" is the one out of the four, is the one that rolled the most (hardly at all even), but has the feathered legs of the other three i had, but the fantail and carriage of a fantail. everyone thinks that one was the prettiest of them all, even over the fantails, they were sold along side (looking just like her aside from color she has of the other "rollers" i got with her. "she" is also the one who didnt go far, or just was always coming back, when the others looked to be maybe homer mixes, so assumed theyd come back as well.

so id actually like to see more pics of your mixed fantails, as the they look sorta like my ash grizzle one (odd it has those colors over white, but blue bar tail like fantails sold with the ones i got.

now if someone could make the tiny birm rollers, with fantails, they would be neat (especially since my fantail rolling looks so unique, though she is huge)!

Oh your female fantail is alot more than half, my guess 3/4 or 7/8. I bred show indian fantails for years, and cross them to add new colors. 1/2 would only have about 15 to 20 tail feathers.

Those pics of the young birds , those are about 2 months old in the pic. not sure but the body look to large for roller, maybe homers post pics later.

Unless you are going to show them, the indian fantail will produce some nice birds. Now bigger the tail , harder for them to produce. Sometimes you may need to trim the tail if getting non-fertile eggs.

I didn't mean to knock the fantail hen , was just letting you know she wasn't pure ,and the no crest,no muff would keep her out of a show.
