Breed?

I do think that he could be a pure Ohiki. A random mix is just as likely, though.

Thank you. I will put Peter Gabriel on the ohiki thread and see what folks think. He is very small, do you think he is bantam?

That color is called "crele" and he has white earlobes so maybe some dutch bantam in there? How big is he? What other breeds did this breeder have? You could get a pretty good idea if you know what parents were available.

Thank you. There were tons of breeds that all looked pretty true, but I did see a little nest with 6 little eggs under a bush. I didn't see any chickens that were very small (though there must have been some with that nest,). And there were a lot of other 'ohiki' that looked very similar. He was the smallest of all by 2/3 and also the prettiest which is why I picked him. He is so tiny, and just tried to crow for the first time this morning. He is about 1/2 the size of the silkies we got yesterday, and a little smaller than the Mille fleur bantams we got. Definitely the smallest chicken in the bunch.

And I don't think this guy was a breeder. He was a pot farmer who got a couple hundred 'straight run' chicks for entertainment but mostly to eat bugs, as he lived in the middle of an orchard
