I do want to say that my flock has not been npip tested. I havent had any incidents and I believe them to be in full health, but I would quarantine him with some corid in his water just to be completely safe. There is a feed store in my town you can get it at.
I do this with every new chicken I get no matter where they come from because when my flock was young I got a new chicken that gave my flock cocci. Of course I treated them and then treated them again a couple months later to be safe. Corrid can't hurt them and doesn't even have a withdrawal period.
The rooster is almost a year old btw.
