The only silkie too. (There was supposed to be 3 eggs from the silkie pen, that's the only one I have seen so far.) He was impatient and wanted to hatch like everyone else. He hatched right out the top only like 4-5 hours after pipping and hadn't absorbed the yolk. If he had laid still and let nature do it's thing...or stay in the container I put him in he might have made it, but he just would not stay still. He was a fighter though. There's 15 eggs left, 4 I'm not expecting to hatch-as a matter of fact I know three are goners. Out of the 11 left that I do expect to hatch 9 are externally pipped. Not bad over all. I should end up w/32 hatchers

overall and 36 went into lockdown.

My two little monsters are 2 weeks old now and are growing like weeds! One minute, they were fluffy fuzzballs and the next they had feather coming in and were figuring out how to fly! They both still fit in the palm of my (tiny)hands when they decide to calm down and stay in one place. I'll be sad to move them out of my room when/if my batch of phoenix bantams start hatching next week. My dogs and I have grown pretty fond of staring at them and waiting for them to do stuff. :)

My mutts are only a week old and I can't wait to see how they color up as adults! I am going to do a weekly photo shoot as long as they will cooperate.
