Unfortunately, the 3rd chick to hatch died the same day. It was just too tiny and not fully developed enough to be out of the egg (it's belly was a bit distended and raw looking). It went fast and in it's sleep, but I'm still pretty sad about it.

I named it Neutron.

The other 2 (Mercury and Frost) are still doing well and have 2 dogs watching out for them.

Sorry...just excited. So I don't know which of the three that is in my make-shift mini indoor coop laid it. I came in from working on the outside coop and went to clean out the inside coop and in the corner under the roost (of course not in the nest boxes) laid a little pinkish brown egg:

It is so perfect! Now I just have to figure out who laid it. I thought I heard a strange chicken sound earlier....I should have gone and checked, now I know and will find out who it is. They will be 21 weeks old this coming week. First thing my son asks "Is it fertile?" He's becoming quite the chicken boy...lol

I always wanted kids, figured 2, from the time I was a teen. I wanted to do it the right way though.....so I didn't end up having hime until I was 34 and still not under the circumstances I wanted....lol But he's 7 now and I am just so blessed by him.

Love the little mohawk crest. Cute!

That chick is so cute! I keep hoping mine will develop crests but so far it looks like my rooster's traits are really strong. :)
