When the babies can swim you take him out, as he is no longer needed. Bettas grow at extremely different rates within a batch, so it is hard to say when to separate them. In one of my batches there was one giant baby, a couple medium ones, and the rest were a little smaller. Just separate the big ones out when they start showing aggression.
I really suggest that you do more reading than watching a video. Even the most reputable sources might have some false info, so it is important to read around, especially since bettas are a little tricky and not as easy as guppies or something. It's a great extensive website to get all your info for, I suggest if you haven't already, read the whole thing on breeding bettas, it's super helpful and walks you through all the stages!
