Hi, ive got my first brahma's and am wanting to hatch some in spring when they start laying. But firstly I was wondering can I breed this rooster to these hens (2 are still chicks so not laying yet) and get standard colours?
Not the leghorn obviously
Thanks

You would get standard colors breeding him to your buff brahma, since he's a buff brahma. The dark brahmas would produce non-standard colors... and it would take them a while to breed true if you were to try to create a dark with more buff in it.

If you breed your buff cockerel to your buff pullets it will produce more buff brahmas. If you breed your buff boy to your dark girl you will still get brahmas, but they will be non standardized colors. They will probably be very eye catching.
