Hi Ann,The male looks of good size, and with a nice breast.I do find that most colors will fade with the sun, especially the light colors like buff. Ialways advise outside pens with lots of green cover or shade.Grape fines, peas, beans, morning glory, sun flowers ,corn, etc, planted along the wire fencing works nice, especially if the pen tops are wire covered.Birds will pick at the green leaves, weeds, grass, etc.

WOW what a nice buff male. Fun seeing this guy for sure. For those who have pens but need shade another possible choice is a hop vine. They are good looking and there is at least one gold leafed version. They grow extremely well once established but can be cleaned off to let the winter sun in. Virginia Creeper is another attractive vine but it doesn't die back so the branches will always be there. No big deal though as it doesn't mat like Clematis or Honeysuckle do. Besides letting sun into an outside pen in the winter (good idea even if the birds are not out) keep in mind that a big matted vine might be way too heavy when covered with a wet, heavy snow.

I have had chicks from Paul in the past (not Leghorns) and cannot say enough good about him.

Dan now I know why folks say to look at your birds IF one wants to see what a REAL Buff colored bird should look like. Thank you for sharing pics.
