We BBQed our first Naked Neck Cockerels today and man-o-man, they are one delicious bird! Never thought they'd be as good as they were but they far exceeded everyone's expectations. They were almost 6 months old and averaged around 7 lbs. We didn't do anything special to them, like let them rest for two days or anything, just plopped them on the grill from the processing table, added salt and pepper, and grilled away. The skin was thin and crispy, the meat extremely flavorful, and just the right moisture level - outa this world good. Just wanted to pass that along in case anyone hasn't tried them yet.

If you want a bite of heaven, you should try one that has been caponized. NNs that are in tact do indeed make a wonderful table bird but the extra flavor and tenderness of the capon is worth waiting the extra few months.

I like to caponize mine at about 6 weeks, (earlier if I'm certain of gender) and let them grow free-range for about a year then 'finish' in confinement for 4 to 6 weeks.

Peerless.

I keep my incubator running with 35-40% during the first 18 days and after that I jack it up to 70-80% humidity. I run mine at 99-100 degrees the whole time. I assume FAF had a typo with the 110 degrees? Maybe not. Mine usually die if they get that hot! Lol. I just pour water into my incubator and only fill one valley and the humidity stays steady the whole time.

What type of incubator are you using right now?

Ever heard of dry incubation? there is a article on here about it and it has really helped me improve my hatching!!!
