BREEDING FOR PRODUCTION...EGGS AND OR MEAT.

Hellbender it's hard to explain. It's not so much about SOP as it is wondering how far "out" my birds are from where they are supposed to be. There are some cross's I'm going to try but I don't know how valid the results will be if the hatchery stock is off

Well whats the verdict on the dc

What is DC?

Chickens do not sweat so humidity does not factor in for cooling them. Lots of breeds die here in california when it gets over 110. Last summer a breeder in Red Bluff lost 15 of her very expensive Marans, and she had normal cooling for them. To keep them alive, she would need an air conditioned coop for them.

I know of no Chanteclers here so I do not think they would do well in Texas either.

The last time I was in Ontario, it got to 102* F. Felt plenty real to me...

102 is not 115 or so. Texas has much higher temps Se my previous posts. We do not have Chanteclers because it gets too hot here.

By the way, it was 105 here today.

Temps are not the problem IMO it's the humidity
Like I posted, for chickens humidity does not matter. It does for us because we sweat.

Texas record high temperature is 120

Canada for the whole country is 113

I looked into Chandeclers and they cannot take the heat where I live. It makes me sad because I was interested in getting them. I am not going to put air conditioning in the coop...
