I have decided to keep him! And sold the other three for $10 each. My welbar is such a gentleman, all the hens are at peace around him, he hasn't showed a single sign of aggresion and he is so beautiful - he is a blessing in disguise. He doesn't like to be touched but he is so respectful and majestic that I have a new appreciation for the "good rooster." The other 3 were nightmares and were stressing out everyone - hens and people alike. I'm pretty happy with how things turned out.
Now, I look forward to the eggs! My welbar pullet is the last one remaining to start laying. I expect to see her first egg soon. I have some blue and green laying hens so I want to hatch some of their eggs this spring/summer out of curiosity. The only issue I see is maybe he is TOO nice lol so far he isn't very busy fertilizing everyone - just the same two hens like once a day. He's great at everything else but maybe that will change!
