It is a problem that happens all the time. A lot are only into chickens for a short time and are gone. Sometimes life changes and they not longer have the ability to have them.Bummer. I'll see if I can find someone else...
Thanks anyhow!

That is a great idea!Yes, I just noticed that too, sorry she is the only one I remember, but I bet if there are others they would be on the silky thread.

Don't say ANYTHING about using them for meat or they'll kill you, or so I've heard. They LOVE their silkies alot.
ABSOLUTELY the silky thread is a PET thread, keep that in mind when posting, you could be burned at the stake for eating them.
Oh, I already had figured that out. Now that I think about it, I might even skip trying to find a BYC source altogether and see what I can get from Ideal...

You don't happen to know or could hazard a guess as to what hatchery TSC would have gotten the Silkies from up your way?

Same with the Cochin thread. You would have thought I was talking about eating human babies when I asked if anyone was breeding Cochins for a bigger, meaty carcass. I was told Cochins were strictly pets and were NOT for eating and that~basically~ I was just there on that thread to hurt and antagonize people.![]()
I was being dead serious! I had the chance to butcher out a Cochin rooster and thought their frame worthy of packing on more meat, as they seem to have good depth and width, just not a lot of density.
Are you wanting silkies specifically or fibro?
