breeding olive eggers

Egg color genes are still what they were in the 60s. They haven't changed and what worked then works now.
The best way to produce olive eggers is by crossing a dark brown egg breed to a blue egg laying breed not a green egg layer.
Green egg layers are already mixed egg genetics. Egg color can be very predictable when you're crossing purebreds with know egg genes.
When mixing mixed egg gene birds then of course there's going to be a variety of different colors/shades produced.
