Breeding Project: Ranger x Cornish cross

they look just like my white rocks is it possible the hatchery my feed store uses lied to me and gave me the cornish cross ?

Got one Cx egg yesterday and one today so far. I hope to be getting eggs from both of them so I can fill my incubator with at least 8 eggs. I love the size of thier eggs--huge

Today I got my incubator in the mail

I have five Cornish Cross X Ranger eggs gathered over the past few days. I will gather more before starting incubation. Eggs are coming slow..I have yet to get Two eggs in one day from my two girls. Not sure if both are laying...hmmm lol

No, I didn't get to finish my project. My ranger roo was taken by a predator. I did get a BCM roo but I had to sell my entire flock when I moved. I can say that when I sold my flock my CX hens were laying well and breeding. I wish i could have followed up on my projec but it wasn't to be.

Well since I am thinking of going down this road. What did you do too keep them from becoming so obese they couldn't perch? Did you just let them free range or did you limit their feed? Did you ever see them mating?

My cornish cross has never laid an egg. She is a year old. What gives?
