Breeding Question!!!

Is it ok to breed 2 diffrent breeds together? Or are they more likely to develope genetic defects this way.? I wanted to try and breed a few diffrent breeds together to see what the outcome will be. I currently have 1 rooster who is a diffrent breed from my hens. Any advise?Thanks Much!!!

Actually, the chicks should be quite strong..it's called hybrid vigor. Sexlinks are all hybrids and are one of the most common egglaying types.

I'd go with the Ameraucana (or Easter Egger, if she's a hatchery girl). Does that one lay blue or green eggs? Should be a pretty bird, I'd think.

You should be perfectly fine. Just like when you breed two different types of dogs together, it doesn't hurt the chicks. Yes, the americana. B-E-A-U-tiful birds!
