breeding season

Dang Steve it looks like you got your work cut out for a while. I cant even imagine what thats gonna be like. Good luck with fixing it though. Im bad. I havent done crap yet to get ready for breeding. My pheasant pens are in dire straits right now. When it warms back up a little here I will party on it. I will have to put the birds in crates while i work on rebuilding some of them. I only have red goldens, elliots and t. tragopans at this time.I may get some ladyAmhearst swinhoes.and reeves back again.I gotta get my rear in gear.

Hey Tony!
I read your post about worming. Do you give them the Ivermec water for 1 day, then 10 days later give them Ivermec for 1 more day? I just want to make sure on how many days each worming.

THanks,
Lisa

Hi Lisa,
Yes,I drain all their water the day before and dry them out. Then when I give the meds they are sure to drink them, and then repeat 10 days later.
Haven't seen you on here in a while.Has everything worked out?

Hi Tony,
Things are fine here. Still have the same Greys. Limited space keeps me from raising more. I do have some Frillback pigeons now, but would like to sell most of them. I got them as adults and they are a little flighty. Looks like you have expanded some, that is Wonderful!! Hope everything is going well for you and your family!

How Wonderful, more Grandbabies!! Congratulations!! Your family is really expanding! I will be watching for pics.

On another subject, one pen of my Greys has already laid a set of eggs.

Yeah I already have a 6 year old grandson and he is a handful.I haven't figured out how to do pics. The other computer I got pretty good at it,but this one is getting the better of me.Buy the time I figure this format out, there will be a new format just like cell phones.
Are you going to hatch them?

I posted a pic here a few days ago, my first time trying on this format and it was easy, I did not have any problems. It seemed easier than the old format. I can try to help, if you need me to.

I don't think I am going to hatch these eggs. Although I love hatching and hand raising the babies, I am limited on space and no more coops. Hubby wants to travel, travel, travel and it is hard to have someone come in and take care of the critters. I also have some added family responsibilities with my father who has health issues and a disabled sister. I have cut down some and probably won't be adding any new birds. The chickens are elderly and just living out their lives (my oldest just passed away - she would have been 9 this spring). Unwillingly, my focus has had to change some. But hopefully, I will be able to start back up again. I really would like to try Temmicks Tragopans and Mandarin Ducks.
