Breeding Seramas?

You can be picky when getting 8. You can search high and low all over the country OR buy 300 eggs to incubate. You are bound to get 8 good ones out of that

An honest opinion about Seramas

They are not a recognized breed yet, there is lot of Serama scammers out there taking adventage of gullible buyers, since Seramas seem to attract lots of new chicken people.

Year ago some "reputable" breeders were selling and shipping overpriced Serama eggs, but most of them never hatched.

Unfortunately.

Mostly important Serama eggs shipped eggs have very low hatchability.

I mean VERY LOW

But very few sellers of Serama eggs will tell you that.

I,ve been there.

So be careful, another scam is A, B, C, Seramas

Everybody wants A (smallest) but real A eggs will hardly ever hatch. So be careful buying A Seramas eggs.

When I first started out, I bought some shipped serama eggs. I bought what was available at that time. The only thing that was available were supposedly " Micro A eggs! some tiny B's" but the sellers lied. Those eggs must have come from C's or something . They were HUGE(for seramas). Even if they say micro A's, which I wouldn't want anyway, they were lying. Their eggs may have been big enough, but they lied on size so they would probably lie on type too. Thats why I don't buy eggs anymore. Even from my own seramas, the hatchability is still low most of the time ESPECIALLY from my A's.
