I have an amber roo and 6 Isa's or production reds( can't tell the difference) just wondering your thoughts on breeding these two together?? Also is there a chance one girl will go broody or should I invest in a incubator?
also at what age is it best to let a chicken go broody for the best success rate??? How many eggs for a clutch for starter chicken keeper?

The cockerel, is he an Amber Link?

If your pullets have some white feathers, they are likely red sex links. Both the Amber link and the red sex links are mxes/hybrid/mutts. These are great egg laying birds, designed for quick maturity and heavy egg laying. Broodiness is not desirable in a production laying flock, so the trait of going broody is extremely rare in these hybrids.

As for breeding them, the results are often very interesting. The chicks can come out just about any color and color combination in the rainbow. If you wish to hatch chicks, I'd strongly suggest getting an incubator.

Thanks Fred's hens . Yeah he is. The pullets have so sexlinks in that case. Ok...interesting , I think I need to consider this a little harder then
