I am new to the backyard chicken circle and have a question. I have olive eggers and golden comets. My rooster is a ee and bred with my golden comets. What color eggs should I expect? The gc lays a light brown egg...I would expect the ee carries the blue as well as the olive. Thanks!:)

So it would probably be an olive egg since it would be mixed with a brown egg layer? If I'm getting the color combo right lol. Blue n brown=green?

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! X2 You should get green/olive eggs, brown coating over blue shells... olive eggs are just more/dark brown coating over blue shell... if your roo carries two blue-egg shell genes, all his pullets should lay green, if he only carries one, then half will lay green, the other half brown. Nice article on egg color. http://scratchcradle.wordpress.com/2012/07/01/gms1-genetics-of-egg-color/
