Breeds and maybe genders? :)

Thank you so much!! What exactly are pullets and cockerels? And the bottoms of the black ones feet, look like the top of its foot, I'm pretty sure.

A pullet is a female chicken under a year of age, and a cockerel is a male chicken under a year of age. Hens are 1+ year old pullets, and Cocks are cockerels that are also over a year of age. Your black chick is probably an Australorp, but we'll just have to wait and see.

Pullets are young female chickens (less than one year old). Cockerels are young male chickens (less than one year old).

I'm very ignorant but have read that a pullet is one that is less than a year old or has not yet laid an egg.

Yes, I think I've heard that too. But when showing chickens (which I do), a pullet is less than a year of age. So that is what I go by.
