Breeds ok to mix with my flock?

It can also depend on the chicken itself too. My barred rocks, white rock, easter egger marans and buff orpington weren't a problem at all when integrating new chickens into the flock. The brahmas and red sexlink I had to watch out for because I was noticing aggression problems with them. As long as you don't have the delaware and Australorp you should be ok because mine are horrible bullies! They were drawing blood and tearing out feathers from the new flock. The delawares are so aggressive that mine ended up being boss over my rooster who is a lot bigger than her.
Wow. Well do you think a Sussex would be ok? I’ve just heard they’re super aggressive.

I agree mixing flocks are not a problem. Just know who’s your top dog and keep an eye on her. I’ve got a RIR who is our ‘big momma’. There are days she’s particularly mean and I need to let her free range while everyone else gets a break from her. I also keep an eye on the newest girls to ensure they haven’t lost too many feathers and are not injured.
It’s been a month now and the fighting has gone way down. The run is big enough and has hiding places.
She’s never drawn blood or injured anyone yet- so it all depends on the personality of your hen.

Oh- and my SS is the bottom of the pecking order. Not aggressive at all. More flighty than anything else.

Speckled Sussex hens are wonderful, in my experience. Love them! French Marans are very nice too, and your group should work out fine. It's all about individual temperaments, although there are 'typical' breed traits too. RIRs and any of the production red hens are often nasty to their flockmates, and Salmon Favorelle hens tend to be so sweet they get picked on often in mixed flocks.
Polish hens often get picked on too, and can't see well.
Roosters can be a different story entirely!

My salmon favorelle is my absolute favorite! Super sweet, actually looks for affection. She’s not the queen of the coop, but also not at the bottom of the pecking order either. LOVE her! :love

I have a mixed flock and like people say depends on individual chicken. My flock has Jersey Giants, Polish, Silkies, Favorellas, Seabright Bantams and Cochins. They get along fine. I have 45 that include 2 Silkie roos, 1 Sebright roo and 1 Favorella roo. The roosters all get along too. Silkie roos are very protective of new chicks.
