Bresse in Montana

Hi Mark,

I think you are one of the people I have been wanting to get hold of about the Bresse and Swedish Flower Hens. I live in Victor and am getting my coop set up soon and have been looking for a mentor or just someone to talk chicken with lol

I am really interested in the Bresse and SFH and was wondering if we could get together and talk / share notes about both. I wil be going the Silver Laced Wyandotte route but I also want the SFH and Bresse.

Mee too. Do you still have any Bresse left? I have a few hens, but its looking like there is no Cockerel in the bunch. Can you believe I'm sad about that!

are you thinking of going there? or just having some shipped? I would totally split a shipment with you if you need it, I'm just down in Idaho falls area so we could meet up easily.

This guy actually lives just down the road from me. I don't have an incubator and am a little leery of starting with eggs that may or may not hatch for me. No I was actually going to get hold of him this weekend and see if I couldn't come check out his stock so I know what I'm getting into as far as the quality of his birds and how well they are cared for. Husbandry of the stock I intend to buy is of the utmost importance to me.

Right now I don't have the resources to travel much of anywhere and that's why I am so happy that he lives so close to me. I will let you know what is going on as far as whether he will ship to you and I really hope he will. If you let me know what you would like I will talk to him as soon as I can get in touch with Mark.

If you would like I can give him your information when I go see him and maybe he can work out some sort of meeting with you to deliver eggs. Once again, though, I do not personally know him so I would have to speak to him once I'm able to get in touch. Are you looking for a young cockerel or are you thinking of eggs to incubate.? Where did you get your initial stock.? Did you know that there are also Black Bresse available from certain hatcheries.? I would love to be able to get some Black Bresse and some Whites and cross them to see what I would get. I still want to keep them separately in order to maintain the purity of the rare stock, but, it would be quite interesting to see.

Well, let's see what can be arranged and I will let you know how things go. Please keep in touch as I am enjoying this conversation with another rare breed conservator.
