I hope I can get the coop cleaned out today and then go hop in the pool.

Good morning!

Today is officially my first day of vacation. But it is not warm enough to jump in the pool.
I will go to chiro, play with bunnies, play with chickies, play with horsie, play with grandbaby, clean coop. Hopefully that will keep me so busy I won't have time to do housework!

I hope everyone who has today off is enjoying it.

I'll post pics of the puppy when we pick her up on the 26th. My DH, and and DD were leaning towards boys, but every puppy I picked up except one was a girl.

We had it boiled down to two girls. One I liked the coat on, adn the other was laid back but very attentive, and confident. She would also settle down with a toy quickly when we walked away from her. She will be a big girl, but not as big as Sampson was.

German Shepards are beautiful dogs! Our neighbors have 2 that are gorgeous, but unfortunately, they don't take very good care of them. One neighbor has already threatened to shoot if they come back in his yard and my son is constantly out with a bb gun to keep them from eyeing the chicken coop. They also have a pit bull that attacked the neighbor's black lab as she was going into her own house! It is sad that people like that don't care enough about their dogs to give them a good safe life.

Yeah, I'm a firm believer in train your dog. Keep your dog in your control at ALL times. I've had to deal with strays, you never know if strays will attack you or not. We have had folks just drop dogs off on our old street at our old address. It's sad to see it

I totaly agree! I have a pitbull and he has NEVER been outside without a leash or lead and he is 7 yrs old now. We just recently put up a privacy fence, and let him out with out a leash and he was really confused at first...then had a BLAST just running aroud free. We still dont let him out there without us though. NOT because he is viscous or anything. but because he's a pit and everybody seems to HATE them. We also apparently have a BIG dog fighting ring somewhere around here, and ALOT of dogs start coming up missing when there is going to be a big fight. We are seeing ALOT of missing dog signs around again, so here must be one coming up again. But also Pits are a big target, they seem to come up missing the most. He is the biggest baby, but is a BEAUTIFUL pure bred Colby Rednose and apparently a very desirable dog for them. The ONLY problem with him is other big dogs...ESPECIALLY other bully breeds, he seems to know the difference too. He will REALLY bow up when he see's another pit. I was told that they steal little dogs too, to use as bait and get the dogs fired up. Sometimes I HATE people!

Sorry... Just went on a rant.

Yep, in our old neighborhood it was the same thing. A lot of stolen puppies, and little dogs. A lot of loose pit bulls running around that were obviously used for fighting.
We had a pack of feral pit bulls running on our street once. No one would come out of their house until the police came and rounded them all up. I couldn't even let my dogs out in their fenced backyard. I guess the fighting rings used our neighborhood as the dump off point for their unwanted fighting dogs. It was pretty bad.
