Seriously, I don't think I'll ever find my chickens

My coop is almost done and the 3 I was talking to the other member about were the only prospects I had. I don't want to get ANY chicken just for the sake of having chickens, you know? I can only have four standards, or twice as many bantams, or some mix thereof...so I really want to get the chickens that I want to get. I really don't want to order from a hatchery, A) because I don't want day old chicks and B) because I can't accidentally end up with a bunch of roos and C) I'd like to "adopt" some chickens that are already here and looking for a home. It just seems like I'm going to have an empty coop for years before I find what I want. And I'm just not THAT patient! Very discouraging
