While I don't name my birds I do want to be able to tell them apart. There are many reasons for needing to be able to identify individual birds such as who's laying, ages, giving meds, etc. I ordered numbered bandettes from Cutler Supply in two different sizes and colors. So maybe I have named my birds. The goes yellow 4 and green 15 is in the nest box.
Hey Opa... I just planted my first roses. Any particular tips on rose care? I've never had roses so this is a first for me. Should I trim them back in fall? My dad was saying his dad used to fertilize with tobacco and some type of fish they used to catch when they went fishing. I told him I'll pass on the fish guts lol
Bone meal is good for roses and yes you would trim them back to about 6" in late fall. Some claim that covering the ends with melted parafin wax or black tree wound spray results in a better plant when they grow new cane in the spring.
I have the bone meal. I'll try the parafin wax. I actually have some that laying around somewhere. Trim back to the branches with 5 leaves in fall? Or does that matter?
DOTTIE AND SIMONE ARE HERE!!!! They're soooooo cute! I got to pick which two I wanted because little Crooked-beak didn't make it. Oh god, I hope I picked two girls. Soooo since I can't post pics with my phone, could I please email them to somebody to post for me?
