I wanted to add, she can use the iridescence paint over the orange. The orange will show thru it. It will also tone down the orange. It will still have a nice sheen to the trim. You can do one coat see how it looks and add more if you want. It is very sheer.

We did two coats because we wanted the shiny colors to change with the light.

Thank you very much! We don't have a Home Depot close, but there is a Lowe's about 20 minutes away. We will have to check into it. I really do like that purple on her walls! But, daughter isn't believing me that the paint will dry darker. She thinks it should already be darker and dry on the paint sample.


Nevermind, I see that the Behr paint is only at Home Depot. I looked up the color you said you used and it does look a whole lot lighter on the sample than the pic of the wall. I am really surprised at the difference!

It will absolutely dry darker! The paint chip is for a reference. The color on my daughters wall is one coat. We didn't have to add a second caot. Lowes will have something similar at their store too. They basically carry the same stuff.

Tell her she can test it out on a piece of scrap wood. Then look at it under different lighting. It will look different depending on the light.

You may have convinced her. She is at least thinking about it again. I am not very good at picking this stuff out, so I am no help whatsoever. One more question though, if we take the paint sample in, can the person mixing it make the paint a bit lighter? Or do you just have to pick out a different shade?

They can match anything. You can tell them I want this color by behr ( you can give them the name, number, or both) in your lowes brand. They will put it in the computer and match it. You can also ask them to give you a sample jar first. That way you can go home and test a small spot on the wall, and adjust the color from there.
