Purplish again. BUT, we figured it out. Even though we keep the thermostat set on 76*, he is still getting alittle chilled. I took him into the bathroom and warmed him up with my wife's hair dryer...Turned red and plump right before my eyes! So at least we know he isnt sick! But now we just need to figure what to do about it. I don't think 76* is too cold by any means. So I think he will comtinue to live inside. We made sure he is not directly under a vent or fan. And we already keep his cage covered with a blanket anyways. What do you guys think?

I am glad you figured it out. So, I wasn't too far off when I said frost bite. Sounds like you are doing all you can, he must be very sensitive to the cool temps. Maybe he is just used to it yet.

Have a wonderful trip michelle.
PRC, that is weird about the comb. 76* and cold? Hmm, it rarely even gets that hot here.

We moved his cage next to a big window so that he can still get sun sun while he is inside the house. Yeah 76*, and he's cold!! LOL! Well actually my wife pointed out that his cage was directly under the vent. And it is the vent that is closest to the AC unit, so it is the coldest blowing vent in the house also. Since we have moved him his comb has stayed red and plump!

Yay! We figured something out!

He probably wanted a window view anyway!

Btw, this showdown thing is getting out of hand. I am doing my very best to keep my feelings in check here. The trip will help me get away for a little, but I have a feeling I am going to have to hear about it for the next several weeks.
