Bring your "Howdy's" here!

Very nice Sheppard, Blue! I have that exact same cage. I just dont have the divider in the middle. They are great! Breaks down and sets up really quick, and is very sturdy!

I put the divider in for now. She's too small for the cage, and didn't want her trying to relieve her self on one side and sleep on the other. She is just like Sampson was in potty training however. She tells you when she has to go outside, and she goes. No accidents. Sampson was the same way. He never in his whole life went inside the house. The breeder I got my GSD's from must have good lines because ALL of her dogs are like this. All the puppies naturally go outside. It makes potty training a breeze LOL

Michelle... Welcome back! I hope you had a great vacation

I have brought Sophie near the chickens and she has seen them. She is intrigued.

A couple of my ring leader chickens went up very close to her but not close enough for Sohpie to reach them. Sophie backed up behind me a little creeped out.

I think she felt like she was being stalked.

She gets limited exposure at night before the chickens get locked up. I haven't let her completely off leash with them yet because she gets her 3rd set of shots on July 7th, and want to make sure she is covered vaccine wise first.

Hey! Welcome back. We let her see and smell them through the fence, she ran and hid under the yard chairs when the Rooster crowed though. Big, bad Bull Mastiff! LOL!

I can't see the web page, Paty. I get an error page.

I really hope they work out around the birds. I have 2 dogs that are older and I don't trust them as far as I can throw them around ours, so they are usually penned or I stand guard at the coop when they are loose just to make sure they don't have any way to get in! Although my lab Cee Cee got loose the other day when the ducks and goose were loose, I held my breath, prayed and tried to get her as fast as I could. She stopped and looked at Nester (goose), Nester puffed up and hissed at her and she ran! My daughter wants a bulldog, but besides the expense of adoption, not sure if it would be good around birds or not. After I got my goats, I swore I wouldn't have another dog, but you guys sure are making it hard to say no!

My trip was wonderful and relaxing! My mom won $1,500 at a casino and I got to see the pandas! And, while I was gone, they remodeled my son's room and cleaned house!

Bulldog would be great! One of the most loyal dogs! IMO. You shouldn't have much problem if they are raised around them. Will probably guard and protect them from your other dogs! Seriuosly! If you allow it around your goats, ALOT, from the time that it is a puppy, they will grow attached to them and consider them a part of its pack. They will protect their pack. So, maybe it could be beneficial. ??

The German shepherd we lost back in April was the only one of my dogs I trusted around my chickens. He would guard the brooders when they were chicks. Sophie is from the same breeder, and same lineage. She isn't scared of the chickens which is how Sampson was. Sampson also had a pig as a friend

She'll be supervised around the chickens for awhile, but I'm pretty sure she'll be fine.
My other two dogs however.... I wouldn't trust either one of them around the chickens.

They were eyeballing the chicks like they were chicken nuggets. They have a fenced area of our property off of the house, so I don't worry about either one of them getting chickens. They just watch them from the deck.

Maybe so. They are so hard to find around here though and when I do find them (never in rescue), it is usually anywhere from $1,000 to $2,000! We have been kinda looking for a couple years now. Maybe someday one will fall in our laps! But, eventually, my husband will one day say "enough!" I had someone ask me today if I would be interested in taking another goose. Like a dummy I say "find out the details and I may do it." Oh why don't I have any will power?? lol

We have a garage cat that is keeper of the brooders! Now we have an injured turkey running around the garage and she happily shares her space with it. The rest of the cats would have already done it in!
