I would decide how many eggs you need per week before buying more. Keep in mind best layers may produce a dozen eggs per week for every three hens.
 
For space suggested allowance is 2-3 sq ft/bird for house floor space and run space is 5-10 sq. ft per bird. As long as you have that you should be fine.

yes! they are watertight! I live in the California bay area, It is nearly always foggy, it only gets to the low 40s (Fahrenheit) and sometimes gets to the upper 80s in the summer (we have no extreme weather)
