Bringing in the rooster?

Hello,

If you have a cardboard box or a small wooden cage that fits him well, you can put him in there at night. It would be a plus if you have one of those storage sheds in which you can put him in there...so that is why I recommend the cardboard box because it keeps him warmer.

Rule of thumb is, he will crow whenever he sees light after a good night sleep. You don't want him to wake you up either so put him somewhere dark.

Our Rooster didn't crow for the longest time but then he finally did and for a month or so he only crowed once or twice.....but now (7/20 hatching) He crows a lot. Mostly he answers crows of other roosters in the area or if my mom calls out to him and he has wandered with the girls into our woods. He also crows to be let out of the coop. We don't let them free range all day because of the Florida Hawks that perch nearby. If they are not around my mom will let them out but we try to stay close. She lets them out for an hour or so a day. Sometimes longer. But he definately crows in protest to being locked up.

All my roo's crow all day long . My neighbors said it doesnt bother them and the can only really hear them, when they come in their yard. We have an agreement I give them eggs they dont complaine.
