Brinsea Mini Advance Incubator

Dividers up. :)

The one caveat is if the eggs are very small, they may do better with the narrow end the opposite.

Watch it when it's turning the eggs and make sure they're all turning. If not, do some experimenting.

I have just acquired my first brinsea octagon 20 advanced, complete with cradle and humidity pump. Has anyone ever hatched parrot eggs in a brinsea before.

My mini advance came with a cover for the water chambers... I dont know if thats a new thing they just started, but no chicks will be getting in there

Good evening, I am hoping with so many people having fantastic hatch results with there minis that you might be able to help me. I purchased my brinsea mini advance a week ago set it up to run for a few days to get temp correct and added eggs this morning. The temp is still stable at 99.5 but I added two separate hygrometers and both are reading the humidity at 62 percent. The humidity outside the incubator is between 35 and 37 percent. I only have one water pot filled as instructed. I contacted brinsea and they said to run it dry with no water in the pots but that puts the humidity at below 40 percent. From what I have read keeping the humidity between 40-50 percent for th e first 19 days is best and then bump up to 65+. Any suggestions on how to stabilize the humidity in the 40 to 50 range? I'm stumped. Thanks! Feel free to either pm me or reply to this thread.

Interestingly, the humidity is dependant on water "surface area" and not volume... Meaning one chanber full is going to get you the same humidity as one chamber half full... More water yes, but the surface area is the same... Is their any way you could block off half of 1 of the chambers?? That would give you half the surface area and less humidity... I think... Ive never done it, but it stands to reason

Yes I knew it was the surface area and not depth but how to only put water in half a pot? I was searching around for something this morning and found a screw off toothpaste cap. Cleaned it out well and voila perfect! Yes it does have to be filled a few times a day but it fits down in the water pot nicely. And my humidity has been holding tight today at 45 percent. Being that a cooling period is recommended anyway I figure it can't hurt for the few seconds that I have the lid off to fill the toothe paste cap and replace it. Does everyone stop turning on the 18th or 19th day? Also seems like some people jump the humidity up to 65 percent for the last two days some up to 75 percent any opinions?
